Georgia is a certified herbalist, organic farmer, seed saver, kitchen witch and passionate environmental activist. Originally from New York, she has traveled the country, working on small, family owned organic farms in the U.S. to research alternatives to the Big Ag industrial farming model, seeking ways we can heal as communities from toxic food politics. Embracing methods of biodynamics, seed saving, companion planting, habitat restoration, and soil remediation, Georgia finds working with her hands in the soil to be the most effective form of therapy for these chaotic times. She has engaged in successful direct action campaigns in Northern California to protect ancient forests and sensitive ecosystems and continues working to expose the impacts of clear-cutting in the PNW. She helped organize last year’s Soil Not Oil Conference and is excited to continue spreading seeds of resistance and hope through the Soil Not Oil Coalition. She currently lives in Portland Oregon.
